Lednice
Welcome in fairy-taile!
Once upon a time… but not far from border line between Czech and Austria, in south Moravia there was built a proud residence. Decorated with lancet windows, oriels and battlements and embraced by huge gardens. They were lined with hedgerows and coated with carpets of beautiful flowers.
Lednice castle was built in 18th and 19th century by Lichtensteins and nowadays it’s a part of a historical and natural complex and has been registred in the Unesco World Heritage list. And no wonder! In adition to beautiful castles in Valtice and Lednice it also includes a lots of smaller objects: for example a romantic ruin Jan’s castle, classicist forestter’s lodge, Appolonis temple with Dorian peristyle, Prayer tower and and much more.
Feel of fairy tale castle Lednice never lost. People are coming to vitalize their childhood dreams, but pretending their interest lies in expert admiring of magnificent architecture. Recently I’ve heard one little girl which was sincere: „Mommy, I want to live here, I´m going to be a princess!“
